The weather is beautiful. I'm highly enjoying the feel of the wind on my neck for once!

I bought myself a brand new, sexy computer that is just amazing. It has rollers. Someone should have made a fortune on that idea. :D Anyway, it's got Windows Vista, which cracks me up because this is how it is:

WV: Allow program.
Me: Allow.
WV: Allow you to allow this program?
Me: Allow.
WV: Er, you sure?
Me: Positive.
WV: Allow your optimistic answer?

It amuses me, but the whole operating system is, well...pretty. I like my windows popping in and out. I like them fading and I like them making funny noises at me sometimes. It's just a lovely setup. They make Dells white now, not black. O_o But the flatscreen has a black case. That's a little annoying--they should have made it white. FOR $1600, THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE IT MATCH.

I've been getting into Irish traditional music a lot. There's a set called "The Acoustic Folkbox" you can download off of Pirate Bay that has some of the greatest songs ever. Some of them are tragically bad, though, and I need to go through the songs and pick them out.

My rat's nails were a bit long and I didn't notice, since I always wear a sweater with him and I'm allergic to his feet, and he scratched the living hell out of his chin. Bleeding and everything...Fucking rat. xD He's been getting the Neosporin and bath treatment. <3 I love him. He's cirled up in his hammock right now. He'll be getting a friend finally in a few weeks--the breeder I work with has a littler of Double Rhex babies coming, and she's going to give me a little boy for freeeee. :D! Ethan and I are buying a ferret cage for them soon.

We sold our old computers and made $400! Amongst other sales, we've made quite a bit of cash on the crap that's been cluttering up the place, and so I bought myself a new purse today, and I've bought TWO SMOOTHIES in TWO DAYS from the cafe downstairs and I feel no guilt.

The fanfiction world has not been prepared for me lately. I'm posting some kinky shit, let me tell you, and I seem to get the same reaction every time: "KSDFJHDSF Guh hot." So WHY HAVEN'T I BEEN INVITED TO
pornish_pixies YET? Goddamnit. I've been trying for AGES. Is there just some fanfiction community I haven't noticed yet? Anyway, if you're looking for something different, hit the link for my fanfic journal at the left and read The Stableboy. Awesome.

Life's been pretty good. Today it was eighty degrees, and for the first time, I got to wear shorts. Hallelujah. There's nothing quite like the sun on my neck, honestly, and it's put me in great spirits.

School is going hilariously. By hilariously, of course, I mean shit, since I'm not really going anymore. I'm going to go to a differnt school next fall and not take my credits with me, so I can pretend I've never gone to college before and not worry about it. As a result, I've missed an exam in a class I was already struggling in, I haven't been to math in weeks (and yet I still have a high grade in there--an A and I never go), and Biology is just laughable. I'll go to my last lab session just because I like my lab partner, and that'll be it.

I'm going back to work full-time this summer, and I'm coming home at the end of May for a week. This is good because my identity kind of got stolen and I can finish sorting shit out there (and kicking someone's ass) and just get away for a week. I'll enjoy being in my car again, that's for fucking sure.

We're getting a nice, big tax return, and we're so torn about what to do with the money. God, it's weird, having such a large sum coming in, but we've pretty much decided that we want a bed. We currently sleep on a 15 year-old futon Ethan's had since he was twelve. It's about the right size for a twelve year-old, too, and our backs are getting the best of us. I can't wait to be elevated off the ground, either.

My fanfiction is getting written like crazy. See my sticky for a list of fanfiction I'm writing currently. You'll also see this in my memories and posted all over my journal. It's a 100 fic challenge I'm doing, and I'm 6% finished. Whee! It's all about Remus Lupin. I've also completely outlined Ambivalent Lucidity and Sectumsempra Animi to finish. The Smitten Series will be finished once AL is done. I also have to fulfill a challenge over at thematic_hp about Prince Regulus, and so that will be a Regulus/Sirius AU by the name of The Stableboy. It'll just be a one-shot.

I had a wonderful birthday. That is all.

I haven't posted here in a while, so I may as well do a post while I'm procrastinating on my Harry/Draco fic. Whee!

Life in Michigan's been pretty good, especially since the weather's been warming up. The other day, I actually got to go outside with just one shirt on! Holy crap! It's really exciting, I think, just because I forgot that warm weather existed. As such, I'm feeling a lot better, and so does the dog, since he gets taken out like twice as much. He's been in a fantastic mood.

Ethan and I have been wonderful, as ever. We never really have big problems, just the usual little skirmishes that end in someone having to lie on top of someone else to get them to get over themselves. That is always amusing. I have been very snarky and bitchy lately, not just at Ethan but in general, and I've been having weird hormones (not pregnant!) so I think that's the reason.

Ethan's decided to go into nursing in the Air Force, which isn't combat medic or anything stupid like that (not that I'm insulting the people who have those jobs; they're needed and I respect their decision, but I really would rather Ethan didn't go to Iraq so much). He's trying to set up an appointment with a recruiter, and so I feel like everything's about to change. He'll be asking if it's required for us to marry for me to come along, or if I can come along as a finacee or whatever. I don't know how my family would feel about us getting married. I know how I feel about it, though, and that's all that matters.

Work's been nice; I've been relistening to the Harry Potter books on my iPod, and oh my god it makes work fly by. I'm currently on the Order of the Phoenix (I'm not listening to them in order), and I'm highly enjoying this. It's nice to refresh--there's so much shit I've forgotten, and so many things that have significance later on in the 6th book. The release of the covers has relit the fire beneath me, and I'm counting days until the book release.

God.

I think I've become boring. Sorry, guys.

Yes, yes, I've been gone for a while, but there's a good raisin for it, I swear! :D Allow me to preface this by thanking Shannon for her excellente Christmas gift to meeee. :D!!!

First off, I went to Tennessee for a few days. The drive down was a tiresome twelve hours, though the frequent stops for food/walking the dog/peeing really helped. I got to meet Ethan's grandfather as we passed through Louisville (one reason the drive took so long), and he is very kind. We got to see Ethan's dad, too! The lot of us went to Sonic and had a chat while the dog begged and got milkshake leavings from Ethan's grandfather. Fun!

Tennessee was nice in that the weather was warm, I got to get some more of my things, and I got to see people I hadn't seen in a while. Mom has decided that, contrary to her previous beliefs, that Ethan is a very nice, personable boy with great manners (I don't know who she's talking about) and that, above all, she LIKES him. O_o Scary! He also got to meet Grandma and Granddad, who also like him very much, and he met Daddy, who loves everybody. I got to see Allen again, too, and that was great. :D It's nice having regular phone calls with him again.

Mom took us shopping to Goody's, where I got $100 in pants and panties/bras and Ethan got a $35 new outfit for Christmas. With the last $15, we treated her and Zach to Sonic. :D Ethan had never had it before, and I think he likes it very much! I already miss Sunshine smoothies, but the nearest Sonic is in Indiana...;.; Grandma also took me shopping, and I got a pair of manboots that are fantastic for working in, some socks, two gorgeous sweaters, and a pair of camo pants that are just orgasmic. I love ass-clingers! Dad took us out to lunch at Cracker Barrel and also gifted us with a necklace I LOVE and two hundred dollars (!!!). I have never been so grateful to my dad. He will also be paying to remove my braces! DSFLKDF! Allen took us to the movies (we saw Eragon...ROFL BAD MOVIE UUUGH, but Zach wanted to see so we tagged along) and also gifted us with a giftcard to TGI Fridays and $40. Lots of money to deposit when we got back! :D All the cash received was put to great use, to be sure.

We got back and spent Christmas Eve at Ethan's mom's, where we were joined by Chris, Val, and the baby. I always enjoy seeing them--they're scarce these days! By the end of the evening, we had an excellent selection of soaps from http://www.indigowild.com/ (I really, really suggest you buy a sampler or something--they're amazing!), new sweaters, shirts, panties (ROFL), jewelry, beads, and little knickknacks. We also received lots of great books, like a hilarious "Cat manual" written in computer terms. Funniest book ever--I hope they have one for dogs. We also got a cookbook with some great recipes, a lizard manual I'd been coveting, and a couple of DVDs. I bought Ethan a nice, thick sweater and Caesar by Adrian Goldsworthy.

We went to Florida for New Years, and let me tell you, I'd forgotten what 82 degree weather felt like. His dad owns a nice condo that's very close to the beach, so we spent quite a bit of time wading ankle-deep in the reasonably-war water while looking for shells. I didn't find many pretty ones (there were lots of people combing the beach for them), but I loved spending time in my bikini! Ethan's dad rented us a waverunner, and let me tell you, the water offshore is not quite as warm, especially in the morning. However, I had never been waverunning in the ocean, so let me OMG RECOMMEND IT. Even though your eyes get full of salt and your mouth tastes gross, it's the fucking best, even at the end of December. We went out to dinner a lot, went to a festival on New Year's Eve, went swimming in the pool, went on a ghost-history tour of St. Petersburg, had ice cream, went to a professional ice hockey game, and generally had a lot of fun. I enjoyed getting to know Ethan's stepmom better, for sure--she's very nice! It was also nice to get to know his dad a bit more, too. :D!

Now, I have to return to work again tomorrow, and I'm a little glad. We're broke, and I want a Wii!

I've been rather distant lately, for sure, especially in my LJ entries. I don't know--life here is hectic, so I use that as an excuse! But really, I spend <s>most</s> all of my time at work or on the couch, which is fine.

Ethan and I are working together on some things. He's pretty much decided on the air force, which makes me happy because he should not only get more technical training, but he has a much smaller chance of being sent to war. He wants to do something medical, I think, like MRI technician-y things, which also pleases me because he'll have a job when he gets out, if he decides not to make a career of it.

There's, predictably, talk of me coming along with him in the Air Force. I want to come along, of course, and he wants me to come along as well, but only yesterday did the m-word come out of his mouth. It's come out of mine before, sure--it's a fact, you have to be muh-muh...well, that before you can come along on deployments and live on or off base--but he never really brought it up on his own and it hit me then, what exactly that would mean. Not only would I be the first of you monkeys to get married, but...I'd be married. Terrifying. Don't expect Ethan and I, if we do get married, to have a big wedding, though. There won't be any dresses or tuxes or churches--it'll be a simple courthouse wedding with just us, and maybe soe sort of reception after, but I doubt it. Likely, we'll just have dinner on our own and celebrate by ourselves. I don't want a big wedding and neither does he, and I've only got a couple of friends here that might come and you Tennessee monkeys wouldn't be able to come because you're all over the country and also, plane tickets/car drives this far are expensive. I just expect a gift of at least $150. <.< >.> AHAHA Did you see what I did there? No, I don't want anything and I don't want you guys to get all mushy on me (or mad) because I sense it and I haven't even posted this yet! Besides, we're not even engaged, so calm yourselves down. ;3

Christmas snuck up on me, damn it. Is it already nearly December? Where did the year go? A year ago, I was getting ready for Finals and mad because I was forbidden from spending Christmas here. Joke's on them, I guess.

I'll be in TN from Dec. 17-21. Who'll be there besides Shannypoo? We're bringing our mutt.

I haven't really done any updating recently, and so I'm gonna try to make an update now (no promises!).

Work's been going fine, as has life here. The weather has taken a colder turn, and today was rainy enough that a coworker brought me home. It's been like this for a while, but that's all right. It's as cold here now as it is in the dead of winter in TN, but it's not really feeling that cold to me.

We got our puppy, who is a complete sweetheart and has only had two accidents (which was our fault, but I wont' go into detail). We had him groomed so he smells nice and looks very soft, and he's going to the vet in the morning. Currently, he's lying in the middle of the floor with breath smelling suspiciously like cat litter. Gross. He ate a carrot I dropped earlier, which is fine. xD

Little lizard is doing well--his sleeping pattern got all messed up, so we're working on fixing it. He's getting bigger by the day, and the base of his tail is really getting large.

The cats are annoying as ever, of course, but I can't help but snuggle them. x3

    <lj:music>Mack the Knife--Michael Buble</lj:music>

I've been feeling weird lately--I feel a little nostalgic for UTK in the fall (it's gorgeous) but I know that if I were there that I would be sooo miserable--but it's certainly nothing I can't handle. Ethan and I are doing wonderfully, despite his constant illness (think violently puking all night), and our lizard is doing just fine. You can see some recent pictures at the end of the post!

So yeah, Ethan had a headache last night when Bex was over, then she and I left for the store meeting that didn't happen. When I came back, Ethan came down to help bring up the rock from Hammond's for the lizard cage, and when I came in behind him, he was face down on the bed. Me: ? I sat down with him and he was all, "Ugh I wish I could puke...Excuse me." Then like five seconds later he's retching into the toilet. It was bad--an all night sort of thing. Poor baby--<lj user=bex> is the greatest person ever and covered my shift this morning so I could care for him. He's feeling better now--at least a little. In the case of it being a reptile tank, I don't even know what I would want to put in it!
